Residents of Oele beach in Yimbo East ward are living in fear following crocodile attacks along the shores of Lake Victoria.
The latest attack was the killing of a 32-year-old man on Tuesday.
He went missing after he had gone fishing. After a three-day search by Kenya Wildlife Services officers and the locals, Kennedy Ouma’s body was recovered and taken to Bondo sub-county hospital mortuary.
“We only found his head and right hand in a thicket on the shore since the crocodile had eaten the rest of the body,” said Boniface Ochieng, a resident of the area.
According to Oele Beach Management Unit chairman William Opondo, the victim had gone fishing.
