A 20-year-old woman in Nairobi has been released on a bond of Sh100,000 after she pleaded not guilty of taking and distributing nude pictures of herself and children under her care.
According to the charge sheet, Damaris Musau distributed pornographic materials in the form of photographs that ended up promoting the prostitution of a teenage girl.
The offence is said to have been committed on unknown dates in July and September in Embakasi's Soweto area.
According to the investigation report, Musau is alleged to have had a tendency of taking her own nudes and storing them in her mobile phone, which she would then send to anybody who was interested.
She is said to have received compliments that she was looking great in her birth suit, which saw her start taking images of a 17-year-old girl whenever she stepped out of the bathroom and then sending them to a man in Mombasa.
Musau would then stash a knife in a school bag belonging to the teen before threatening to kill, her if she let the secret out. She is said to have been warned against leaving her phone with the children.
However, when the nude picture of the teen landed in the hands of police, Musau was traced and arrested.
She appeared before a Makadara court and released her on a bond of Sh100,000 pending mention of the case on October 10.
