President William Ruto is chairing the Kenya Kwanza Parliamentary Group (PG) meeting at State House, Nairobi.
The Standard has established that the meeting kicked off at half past eight on Tuesday, May 23. Both the President and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua are present.
One of the key agendas of Tuesday's meeting is the upcoming budget legislation debates in Parliament.
"Apart from matters to do with the coalition and party discipline, the main agenda here is passing the Finance Bill, 2023 once it is tabled in the House," an MP disclosed.
Nominated MP Sabina Chege is among those in attendance, just a day after the Jubilee party dismissed her among other leaders including East Africa Legislative Assembly (EALA) MP Kanini Kega and Nelson Dzuya in a bid to strengthen the outfit led by former President Uhuru Kenyatta.
This is the sixth PG Mr Ruto is chairing since he assumed office. The last one was held at State House on April 11, 2023, when he urged the MPs to prioritise the delivery of services to the people and fully support Kenya Kwanza's agenda.
