Kenyans on Monday, May 1, 2023, celebrated the achievements of workers in an event led by Central Organization of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary-General Francis Atwoli and graced by President William Ruto.

The event held at Uhuru Gardens in Nairobi, the first under Ruto's presidency, was also attended by Labour and Social Protection Cabinet Secretary Florence Bore, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Prime CS Musalia Mudavadi and a host of other Kenya Kwanza Alliance leaders.

Attendees who braved the mid-morning chill were treated to memorable parades by a section of worker groups including teacher unions and select manufacturing companies which displayed their wares and the capacity of their workforce - a favourite of the holiday.
