Body parts have been recovered in a river in Kayole, Nairobi.
The parts include a man's head and arm, and a leg believed to belong to a woman.
Also recovered from the river on Sunday is the body of a baby estimated to be between two and three weeks old.
And about 40 kilometers away, DCI officers in Ruiru found yet another mutilated body that was stashed in a sack and dumped outside a building.
The two incidents, which police suspect are related, have sparked fears of cult murders or a serial killer on the loose.
On Wednesday, Ruiru DCI boss Moses Ombati said the body found near the building belongs to a woman.
He said they are yet to identify the victim since vital body parts such as fingerprints are missing.
"No one has come forward to claim the body," said Ombati.
Similarly, police are yet to name the Kayole victims. "We can tell that these are parts of a man since we recoveed the head, but the palms, which could have assisted us in the investigations, are missing," said Kayole police chief Paul Wambugu.
Police are still searching for more body parts.
In the Tuesday's Ruiru incident, members of the public alerted the police after a suitcase at the entrance of the residential building was found to contain the body parts.
The woman was half naked and the head appears to have suffered multiple injuries.
Detectives said the body parts were still dripping with blood.
