President William Ruto has jeted back to the country after a four-day tour in Europe.
The president arrived at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport at 8:45am where he was received by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and top security chiefs.
All eyes are on Ruto who is currently chairing a cabinet meeting at State House Nairobi even as Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition is expected to stage antigovernment protests across the country.
Ruto left the country on Sunday for the Europe trip where he met his German counterpart Frank Walter Steinmier.
The head of state also delivered a speech at the Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue where he outlined the challenges facing the energy sector amid the current climate crisis.
While Azimio led by their principals Raila Odinga, Martha Karua and Kalonzo Musyoka have maintained the weekly protes will continue untill Ruto lowers the current high cost of living, Ruto told investors that impunity will not be part of the country's political discourse.
Ruto maintained that all Kenyans must submit to the rule of law.
"That is what makes us equal. Nobody should trample on the rights of others," he said on Tuesday, March 28, in Berlin when he met Kenyans living in Germany.
Ruto also assured that everyone's life, property and business will be protected.
"We have deliberately offered the police operational and financial independence to work. It is their duty to ensure that everyone adheres to the rule of law," he said.
The President also said it is incumbent upon the Inspector General of Police Japhet Koome to decide how to secure Kenya.
Koome has since then declared the protests illegal and banned any demos whether cleared by police or not.
