Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has directed ministries to submit their revised 2022-2023 performance contracts by Wednesday, January 18.

In a statement on Tuesday, January 17, Mudavadi said the performance contracts should contain priority areas that President William Ruto highlighted during a four-day Cabinet retreat in Nanyuki recently.

During the senior government officials' meeting, the Cabinet members evaluated and reviewed the performance of the Kenya Kwanza administration thus far.

"Ministries are advised to ensure that the performance contracts for the year 2022/2023 for State corporations under their purview also incorporate relevant aspects of government priorities and submitted online for review," Mudavadi said in the circular addressed to the Head of Public Service Felix Koskei and respective ministries.

The Prime CS further observed that certain members of the different ministries will have their performance contracts set afresh because of transfers, reassignment or realignment of the state departments.

The government uses the performance contracts to measure accountability and task-fulfilment among civil servants.
