Standard Group journalist Moses Omusolo was laid to rest on Friday at his home in Teso South, Busia County, as family and friends called for justice following the questionable circumstances under which he died.
Omusolo, who until his death was a journalist with The Standard, was eulogised as a humble, God-fearing, soft-spoken man whose death has left a gap in his family.
Omusolo, a descendant of Okwata village, Akoreet location, Teso South, was remembered with praise for how his achievements benefited not only the family but also the Teso community.
Orlando Lyomu, Group CEO of Standard Group, praised the late Omusolo as a valued member of the editorial team. "He was a diligent and dedicated employee, who was passionate about his work," said Lyomu.
In a speech read by Standard Group PlC sub-editor Andrew Watila, and who worked closely with Omusolo, the CEO said Omusolo was held in the highest esteem by the company's employees and many others with whom he worked in our industry.
"He will be greatly missed by all of us," added Lyomu.
Moses died on December 22.
His planned wedding was set for February 11, 2023.
His body was discovered on Kangundo Road in Nairobi, with a deep cut on the head.
Investigations into his death are ongoing.
