Today, Kenya commemorates the ninth-year anniversary since the Westgate Shopping Mall in Nairobi was attacked by suspected militants on September 21, 2013.
The attack that sparked a four-day siege in which large parts of the mall were destroyed, left at least 67 people dead.
Al-Shabab militia group claimed responsibility for the attack in their response to Kenya carrying out operations on Somali territory.
Two suspects, Mohammed Abdi and Hassan Mustafa were found guilty of the attack and were sentenced to serve 33 and 18 years respectively.
