Rehearsals and preparations for the swearing-in ceremony of President-elect William Ruto and his Deputy-elect Rigathi Gachagua are hitting the homestretch at the Kasarani Stadium, Nairobi.
Ruto and Gachagua will be sworn in as President and Deputy President between 10 am and 2 pm on Tuesday, September 13.
The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) will oversee the event which is set to cost more than Sh200 million.
The Assumption of Office Committee led by Head of Public service Joseph Kinyua toured the stadium to carry out an inspection ahead of the event that will be graced by various presidents, dignitaries, and members of the diplomatic corp.

The military has been conducting simulations of the event since the Supreme Court ruled that Ruto and Gachagua were validly elected.
The exercise involves officers from the Kenya Navy, Air Force and Army.
Several Heads of State and governments are expected to grace the occasion on Tuesday.
The apex court in a unanimous decision dismissed seven petitions that had been filed challenging Ruto's win.
The duo who were running on a UDA ticket beat Raila Odinga of Azimio la Umoja, George Wajackoyah of Roots Party, and David Mwaure of Agano Party.
According to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), Ruto got 7.18 million votes (50.49 per cent) while Odinga got 6.94 million votes (48.85 per cent).
