Raila Odinga's National Chief Agent Saitabao Ole Kanchory has explained Raila Odinga's absence at the national tallying centre at Bomas of Kenya.
In an impromptu address to the press, Kanchory said his team do not have verifiable presidential results they can rely on and therefore could not invite their principal to Bomas.
Kanchory claims they have tried to reach the Independent Electoral Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chairman Wafula Chebukati in vain. He furher claimed that Chebukati was avoiding to meet with political party agents, even after promising to supply them with Forms 34C.
"The agents had been assured to be supplied with Form 34C which bears the result of that election. But the chairman has been avoiding us all day...He has deliberately held himself incommunicado," Kanchory alleged.
Kanchory further alleged that they have reason to believe that the just-concluded election was a sham and lacks integrity.
At around 5pm some Azimio supporters including, MPs and senators-elect, started trooping out of Bomas. Some observers and diplomats also left the national tallying centre. At this stage, the Kenya Kwanza side burst into song and dance.
The declaration of the presidential election was supposed to be announced at 3 pm but was moved to 4 pm which elapsed without the announcement.
