Kenya County Government Workers' Unions have accused the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) of being biased is against some employees

The union officials in a joint press briefing held in Nairobi said SRC has never allowed the employees of defunct local authorities to give advisories.

"The employees of defunct local authorities are Kenyans like every other public officer and deserve the right to be cushioned against adverse effects of cost of living," Union's branch secretary Festus Ngari stated.

The union claims SRC has thwarted all the efforts to review the collective bargaining agreement for defunct local authorities for 12 years now against the recommended four year cycle.

At the same time the workers union stated that some individuals in collaboration with some county officials are aiming at destabilizing and disrupting county operations as they did in the previous regimes.

"The cartels in conjunction with some rogue county officials' behind these actions are the same people who destabilize the previous regimes in their insatiable appetite to loot," said in a statement read by Unions staff

This, they said union workers could miss some necessities if Nairobi County Government fails to take immediate actions to counter them.

Thus they urged Governor Sakaja to deal with the cartels by blocking channels to which they are maneuvering into the county.
