Police on Tuesday afternoon, February 21 arrested comedian Eric Omondi and other protesters for attempting to forcibly access Parliament during cost of living protests.
Omondi had led a group of well-built men in protesting against the skyrocketing cost of living.
They blocked the busy Parliament Road in Nairobi, while demanding to be addressed by the National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula.
Police officers' attempts to persuade the protesters to leave the venue proved futile, prompting them to hurl teargas to disperse the crowd.
Omondi and a few other protesters were bundled into a police van and driven away.
Calm was restored on Tuesday afternoon.
