Deputy President Dr William Ruto has described retired President Daniel arap Moi as a professor of politics.
Ruto was giving his tribute during the memorial service of the late Moi that was held at the Nyayo Stadium on Tuesday February 11.
The DP said he is among the many Kenyans who graduated from Mzee Moi's school of politics. "Moi went ahead without a PhD to become a professor and we all became students of his school of leadership and politics," said Ruto.
He further described Moi's leadership school mission statements as 'Fuata nyayo', and the mission being 'Siasa mbaya maisha mbaya' with a vision of 'peace love and unity'.

Left mark in Kenya's education system
DP Ruto hailed Moi as a great teacher who has left an indelible mark in Kenya's education system. "Many university graduates owe their education to expanded opportunities overseen by President Moi," he said.
The DP praised the efforts of former President Moi to unite Kenya and bring on board other communities perceived to have been marginalised.
"President Moi consolidated this country from where Jomo Kenyatta left and brought on board tirelessly every community including the marginalized into the nation of Kenya," he said.
DP Ruto also said Moi meant well for the country despite his imperfections, adding that the late president was not perfect and so is every human. He termed him as a father, hero and mentor.
