Jemimah Ndegwa, the wife of the new Safaricom CEO Peter Ndegwa has showered him with praises following his appointment to manage the company from April 1, 2020.
Mrs Ndegwa posted a congratulatory message on her husband’s timeline:
Mr Ndegwa becomes the first Kenyan to be appointed to head the mobile telecommunication company. His appointment was confirmed by the Safaricom company Board of Directors on Thursday evening.
“The Safaricom PLC Board of Directors has today resolved to appoint Mr. Peter Ndegwa as the company’s Chief Executive Officer effective April 1, 2020. He joins Safaricom from Diageo PLC where he is the Managing Director of Diageo Continental Europe,” the statement from the company read partly.

He will take over from Kenya Airways Board Chairman Michael Joseph who held the position on an interim basis, following the demise of Guyana-born Bob Collymore in July 2019.
