Kenya: Clamour for better pay and job security has made Nairobians permanent job seekers, research by a consultancy firm has revealed.
The report by Corporate Staffing Services (CSS) says that almost half of working Nairobians have been seeking jobs since they got their current ones, some for more than five years.
The study established that 35.8 per cent of those employed are willing to change current jobs for greener pastures while 22.1 per cent are motivated by fear of being sacked.
Majority (72 per cent) of working and unemployed Nairobians are now even willing to relocate to another county or country for job opportunities. They reported they would relocate to any county or country for a more secure job with better terms and working conditions.

A whopping 84.6 per cent of respondents said they would not mind relocating to counties or foreign countries for better opportunities.
Other reasons given include a desire to match their skills with their jobs as well as pursuit of a better working environment.
