Kitui, Kenya: Mwingi Central MP Joe Mutambu has been charged with assault and squeezing the private parts of Kitui Governor Julius Malombe's political advisor.
The legislator denied the two charges before Kitui Senior Resident Magistrate Rose Ombata Thursday, and was released on Sh50,000 cash bail.
The prosecution accused Mr Mutambu of willfully and unlawfully assaulting Charles Kyale thereby occasioning him actual bodily harm at Tana Athi boardroom on February 23.
The case will be mentioned on November 23.
Outside the courtroom, Kitui Central Sub-County CID boss Aden Guyo told The Standard that police were looking for the MP's co-accused.
