NAIROBI:
Thugs raided the Nairobi home of former South Mugirango MP Omingo Magara and robbed the family of goods of unknown value. The family lives in Nkoroi, Ongata Rongai.
The gang harassed Mr Magara’s wife and children for hours before leaving at about 6am yesterday. Police said the gang escaped without injuring anyone.
At the time of the ordeal, Magara was not in the house. He arrived from The Netherlands Wednesday morning. The gang escaped in a waiting car to an unknown place and efforts to trace them are ongoing.
And in a separate incident in the same area, a woman was shot and wounded as she resisted the robbery. The gang had raided a home and was stealing household goods when the woman raised the alarm. The woman was shot and wounded in the stomach before the gang escaped.
