Three doctors and a businessman yesterday denied stealing Sh13 million theatre equipment from St Mary’s Mission Hospital in Elementaita.

Doctors Seth Manera, Peter Lemayan ole Mako, Peter Kibet Kigen, and businessman Patrick Njenga Ng’era allegedly committed the offence on diverse dates between January 4 and January 18, 2018.

The four, according to the charge sheet, took away 57 assorted theatre and laboratory equipment valued at Sh13, 283,200.

The equipment listed included anaesthesia and dialysis machines, theatre monitors, and surgical sets. Ng’era faced an alternative charge of handling stolen items.

They were released on a Sh5 million bond each and a surety in the same amount. The case will be mentioned on April 12, 2018 to set a hearing date.
