Musician Nameless has announced the passing of his father, Mathenge Snr.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, the Back It Up hitmaker wrote: "Rest well Daddy. I am blessed beyond measure to have had you as a father!"

His wife and fellow musician, Wahu Kagwi, was among those who responded to the post, writing: "An amazing father-in-love. We thank God for the full life, your warmth, wisdom, and everything that you were. Until we meet again. Rest with the angels, Dad."

Musicians, celebrities, and fans flooded the post with messages of condolence and support.

TV host Tallia Oyando said: "Sending love always."

Singer and songwriter Kristoff commented: "Condolences bro."

Artist Lilian Mbabazi wrote: "Sorry for your loss. May the Almighty comfort you and the family."

Comedian Terrence and his wife Milly Chebby also shared their condolences, writing: "It is well."

Nameless, born David Mathenge, is one of Kenya's most celebrated musicians, credited with shaping the country's urban music scene since the late 1990s.

He rose to fame with his hit Megarider after winning a star-search competition and went on to become a pioneer of the Kapuka sound.

With timeless tracks like Sinzia, Boomba Train, and Nasinzia Nikikuwaza, Nameless has earned respect for his consistency and ability to evolve with the industry.

He is also a trained architect from the University of Nairobi.

Off the stage, Nameless is married to award-winning singer Wahu Kagwi. The couple, who share two daughters, are regarded as a power duo in Kenya's entertainment scene.
