Musician Henry Ohanga alias Octopizzo is hopeful that President-elect William Ruto will legalize and decriminalize weed claiming that it is one of the holiest plants in the world. The performing artist made the comments days after President-elect William Ruto was seen with Delaware's senator. In a video circulating online, Octopizzo lists Delaware as a template for the perks of decriminalizing weed. Delaware has passed laws decriminalizing personal use and also the possession of weed. This makes Delaware the 19th state to pass the laws in the US. Citizens can only possess up to one ounce of weed. If caught using the substance in public, the penalties are not so stringent- a fine of about $100. In Kenya, being found in possession of weed in the country is still punishable by law. Octopizzo decried the sad state of Kenyans who are arrested in possession of weed in the country. He said, "For me what I am asking from you because it would take a lot of prayers to understand, first is decriminalizing weed. So many people are in juvenile. I have worked in Kamiti and so many people are in juvenile because of 100sh weed and they have been there for over five years. It's not fair I think the first thing is to decriminalize weed and people should not be going to jail and losing their lives because they were arrested with one joint, if you are moving kilos you can be arrested. The activist revealed that most people smoke weed to reduce anxiety and not just to get high. The rapper is also confident that engaging in the "weed business" would fetch the country a lot of revenue.
