Chocolate City songbird Victoria Kimani has revealed how a star-struck couple in Paris, France, mistook her for rap icon Nicki Minaj.
Through a post on social media, Kimani narrated how she was approached by a couple as she toured the iconic city and handed a baby.
"So here I was doing touristy things In Paris and this couple came up to me and literally handed me their baby then told me to take a picture with her. I later found out they thought I was Nicki Minaj. While I do appreciate the ultra-sweet compliment, I do not look like the queen, not even a little bit,” she wrote.
Mistaken for Minaj, the couple requested her that she takes a photo with the adorable baby, an offer she took in stride albeit with a pinch of salt that the child will grow up and notice the difference.
That is if the parents do not realize it quick enough, of course.
“One day this child will grow up and realise that I am in fact not Nicki but a pop star from Africa ( which is super cool too) anyway we look cute in our matching hats," she added.
This is not the first time the public has mistaken a star for the other though.
The late Nobel Peace laureate Kofi Annan revealed during his 80th birthday that he was once approached in Italy to sign autographs by fans who thought he was the legendary American actor, producer and narrator Morgan Freeman.
He said he signed it and walked away very fast!
