Ugandan socialite Zari Hassan’s ex-husband Rich Gang CEO Ivan Ssemwanga escaped being jailed.
Ivan, who is the father of Zari’s three sons, had been accused of robbing Gadafi Sadat Serusiba’s property worth Sh13 million (USh46 million).
After a mediation meeting, Ivan agreed to pay Serusiba for the items he lost that included an iPhone6, a gold chain and money.
Gadafi agreed to drop the case.
Gadafi went on to say that it’s not Ivan who stole his phone, but it got lost as he was being dragged out of a club by bouncers.
Ivan apologised for his actions which he said were due influenced by alcohol.
The officer who was investigating the case released Ivan’s passport after being convinced by the complainant that all was well.
