The internet is awash with reactions from Kenyans after rumors surfaced this afternoon that American rapper, 2 Chains, will not be performing in his highly anticipated concert.
It all started when former radio queen, Caroline Mutoko, tweeted:
Newsflash: Jameson has been unable to secure Two Chainz as contracted & therefore the concert won't proceed, we apologise to all listeners
A look at the rapper’s website and social media pages showed us nothing out of the usual. There was no cancellation statement.

So we called Jameson representatives and organisers.
While calls to them have largely gone unanswered, we did manage to get a comment from one of the marketing reps working closely with the company who spoke on condition of anonymity.
“There is no cancellation as far as I know. All I can say is that the rapper missed his connecting flight but the organisers are working to make sure that he gets an alternative flight and lands by tonight.”
“Can you tell us where the rapper missed his connecting flight?” We prodded.
“I am afraid I am not privy to that information,” he concluded the brief interview.
This story seemed to collaborate with our entertainment photographer’s statement who confirmed that he had been contacted by Jameson to receive 2 Chains at the JKIA tonight by 8:00 pm.
The rapper was slated to perform at a sold out Jameson Live event on Saturday at the Ngong Racecourse. Tickets were retailing at Sh1,500 for gallery and Sh5000 for VIP. Tickets were sold out by Wednesday.
Until there is official word from the sponsors, we assume that the concert will continue as planned.
