Wajir South MP Mohamed Adow has embarked on a transformation journey to mitigate gaps hampering access to education in the constituency.
Adow, who earlier sponsored 107 students to undertake teaching courses in university, said students in the region cannot attain quality education unless schools are adequately staffed with teachers.
Speaking at Ndege Girls during his five-day tour of Wajir South that saw the residents benefit from his development agenda, Adow said that the initiative was a significant stride geared towards bolstering the community's education infrastructure.
Some of the schools that received infrastructural boost include Matawarsesa, Shidle, Dabley and Meri Primary School.
The former Aljazeera journalist also reopened and operationalised Wajir South Technical and Vocational College and disbursed Sh1m in bursaries to students. He also pledged to build hostels for students.
Addressing the residents during the commissioning of two classrooms at Aqar, the MP said more development projects were in the offing including the fencing of Diff Secondary School and the groundbreaking of Dadajabulla Girls Secondary School.
"The development tour is a significant step toward addressing the challenges in education and creating a conducive environment for our future generation. My unwavering commitment to fulfilling my pre-election pledges remains resolute," said Adow.
Feisal Ali Omar, a teacher at one of the schools that received an infrastructural boost, applauded the MP for his dedication to education.
