When it comes to wacky new inventions, the bagket really takes the biscuit – and bread, orange juice and bananas too. The bagket – a jacket and vest in one – has 22 pockets and can carry up to 7kg of your shopping essentials. But at almost Sh. 7,000, you will have to wear it at least 1,400 times before it pays for itself. The bagket joins a long list of weird and wonderful inventions that have been thought up around the world.
Here, we list some of the wackiest inventions ever!
Shoe umbrellas
The Japanese are renowned for their innovation but what were they thinking with these shoe umbrellas? They're meant to keep your feet dry in the rain but we bet it won't stop you being showered by people taking the mickey because, quite frankly, they look pretty ridiculous.
Car exhaust grill
This unusual invention is ideal for those people who just don't have the time to stop at a fast food place for a bite to eat – because they can cook their dinner as they drive. The brainchild of an Iranian designer, this grill cooks your burger using heat from your car exhaust. But sadly it's yet to make it out of the production stages. We can't imagine why...
Phone fingers
Don't you just hate it when you get your touch screen phone all dirty with your sticky fingers?
Well, fear not these phone fingers will solve the problem. Developed in Austria, these latex fingers come in pink, blue, white and black. There's even a chart to estimate your finger size.
Goldfish walker
Why should it only be dogs that can go for walks? Eager for his pets to see more of the world, Mick Madden, 52, came up with this specially designed trolley that allows him to wheel his fishes, Ethel and Malcolm, around. The metal worker, from Huddersfield, said: “I was looking at my goldfish going round in circles in their bowl looking bored silly so I made this to take them out and about and they love it.”
Remote headband
Where's the remote? It's on your head! With homes having so many gadgets these days, it's hard to keep track of where you put all those remotes. So some bright spark came up with the idea of developing a headband that you can attach your remotes to, putting an end to hours spent searching behind the sofa cushions. But you will look slightly daft wearing it.
On your head
Perfect for this time of year when coughs and colds are running riot, this toilet roll dispenser will mean you will never have to root around in your back or pocket for a tissue. Although it's useful, this Japanese invention is probably going to make you the butt of people's jokes.
Butter stick
Another wacky Japanese invention, this butter stick is clearly designed for those people too lazy to use a knife to butter their toast. It's basically a glue stick filled with butter and you can even get it in two varieties, unsalted and salted. Just don't get it mixed up with your actual glue stick...
Privacy scarf
They say Big Brother is always watching but surely this privacy scarf is taking things a little too far. Designed to stop people snooping at your phone messages while you're out in public, the inventors seem to have missed the fact that this bizarre invention actually draws attention to you. Perhaps one for the seriously techy.
Are these the craziest inventions ever?
