The Saboti chief, who broke the internet with a viral video narrating an alleged homicide case, retired in style during a ceremony held in Saboti, Trans Nzoia County.

"One of the most popular Chiefs in Kenya Mr Wechuli AKA 'Musieveve' retired today and was celebrated by Kenyans from all walks of life for his distinguished service. What a joyous day in Saboti ,Trans Nzoia County! Hongera my friend!" he said.
Saboti MP Caleb Amisi also graced the ceremony and had kind words to share about the chief.
"His dedication and unique sense of humor made him a beloved leader. I encourage all chiefs to emulate his leadership-dedicated, with a touch of humor. Wishing you the best in this next chapter, Chief!"
Amisi gifted Wechuli a brand-new motorcycle and also handed over a bull, which he said was courtesy of Deputy IG Gilbert Masengeli.
In the viral video that thrust him into the limelight, Chief Protus Wechuli was explaining how a man was irritated by the vegetables his mother had prepared.
His mother had cooked 'misheveve' (pumpkin leaves), while he preferred 'sarat' (African kales).
The irritation led to an altercation in which the son jumped up and threatened to beat his mother. On hearing the commotion from the bedroom, the father rushed in to help his wife.
"Akaulizia Mama, umepika mboga gani, mama akasema, leo nimeunda misheveve. Kijana akasema sikutaka hizi, nilitaka sarat," Chief Wechuli narrated.
The chief went on to describe how the man aimed for his father's fingers, trying to chew them like he was eating 'omena' (sardines).
His narration captured the attention of many, with some noting that he is naturally hilarious and able to connect with the community through his distinctive storytelling style.
