The Kenya Hajj Mission under the Supreme Council of Kenya Muslims (SUPKEM) has signed the protocols for the 2024 Hajj season in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umra Affairs and Kenya's Al-Hajj Hassan Ole Naado signed the agreement, which outlined the commitments and responsibilities of the parties ahead of the Hajj season.

Speaking during the ceremony, Dr Abdul Fattah Suliman, Saudi Arabia's Deputy Minister of Hajj emphasized the importance of adhering to the timelines in preparation for the Hajj Season of 2024/1445.

He stressed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was very keen to ensure that pilgrims from all over the world received quality services to enable them to perform their hajj rituals comfortably.

Suliman encouraged the Kenya Hajj Mission to also finalize contracts with service providers that include housing both in Makkah and Medina and meals in the holy sites of Mina and Arafa.

The Minister called on SUPKEM to attend to the commitments of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud and the Crown Prince and the Prime Minister, His Highness Mohamed Bin Salman on matters of Hajj and pilgrims.

On his part, President of the Kenya Hajj Mission Al-Hajj Hassan Ole Naado paid tribute to the custodian of the two holy mosques and the Saudi Arabia leader King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

He also hailed the Crown Prince and Saudi Arabia's Prime Minister for their commitments and efforts to ensure that pilgrims from all over the world can perform their religious obligations with ease.

He also confirmed that at least 4, 500 Kenyans shall perform hajj in 2024 and committed to adhere to the calendar of events.

Saudi Arabia Ambassador to Kenya Khalid A. Al-Salman and Dr. Badr Al-Solami- Director General at the Ministry of Hajj and Umra Affairs, formed the group of attendees who represented Saudi Arabia at the ceremony held at Assila Hotel, Jeddah.

The Kenyan delegation was led by SUPKEM national chairperson Al-Hajj Hassan, among others.
