A Somali national has been arrested for allegedly forging Kenyan citizenship as police heightened surveillance amid threats posed by the Al Shabaab militia.
Detectives are now trying to establish how Abdihakim Saidi Jama was able to get a Kenyan birth certificate, national identity (ID) card and a passport.
The 24-year-old was arrested in Isiolo and arraigned before a Makadara Law Court, Nairobi, where police were allowed to detain him for 14 days to complete investigations.
