The former Roots Party presidential running mate Justina Wamae has asked the government to be sensitive to Kenyans' financial woes before introducing more taxes.
Ms Wamae said that Kenyans are going through tough economic times and the government should spare them more taxes.
"I want to tell the government that the work of the opposition is to discredit the government therefore, Kenya Kwanza should transit from politics to leadership. Let Azimio la Umoja One Kenya continue making noise because that is their job. Kindly look at your plan and listen to what Kenyans are saying," she said.
On Jubilee wrangles, she warned rebels who are rocking the boat from within to quit.
Wamae revealed that she was once a Jubilee member until she lost in the party nominations for Mavoko parliamentary seat.
"It is high time Kenyan politics get sanitized so that we have a political hygiene country. Be in a political party because you believe in its philosophy and ideologies. Kenyans especially the youths should desist from joining political parties with the aim of benefiting from them," she said.
Speaking on Radio Maisha morning show, yesterday, she said that if they had clinched the presidency with Roots Party leader George Wajackoyah, their government would have prioritised creating jobs for youths.
Wamae explained that they would have utilized irrigation schemes like Galana Kulalu and established industrial hemp that would have created job opportunities.
"Today we would have mercury-free and Kenyan branded sugar that would have been made out of hemp sugar. In four months we would also have enough flour and the cost of living would have gone down because of our local production," she said.
