Githunguri Member of Parliament Gathoni Wamuchomba now says that the stalled bipartisan talks are fully political and have got nothing to do with lowering living standards.

Speaking on Spice FM on Wednesday April 26, Wa Muchomba urged politicians to stop misleading Kenyans who do not understand the bipartisan talks and instead bring to table issues that are directly affecting locals like education and expensive healthcare.

"The bipartisan talks are hundred percent political and they've got nothing to do with the purported lowering of food prices. Politicians are now taking the advantage of the situation to propel their own selfish agendas.

The legislator who is also the chairperson for the Constitutional implementation and Oversight Committee also suggested that public participation is key in unveiling any issue affecting a society.

"Essential services have been commercialised in Kenya for example higher education is too expensive while CDF only offers just a little and there are some communities that have more opportunities than others when it comes to the sharing of the "cake," she added.

The lawmaker suggested that the government should allow counties to have a local quarter system especially in densely populated areas which equates Kenyans to what they're giving in taxes and how the raised revenue is shared across counties .

She urged that the indexes on population against delivery service to the people should be looked into considering the one man, one vote strategy.
