The Kisii County Assembly has impeached the County Public Service Board members.
Sixty-nine members have voted against the board. Only two MCAs voted in favour of the board. All the 71 MCAs participated in the exercise.
The five Public Service Board members and the secretary had appeared before the Assembly's Committee on Labor and manpower in a petition that had been presented by Benson Atika, a resident from Nyaribari Masaba Constituency.
The law allows for a 75 percent vote-of-no confidence by MCAs to allow for the impeaching of the Board members.
They board was accused of gross violation of the Constitution that included poor human resource practices, and participating in illegal job promotions.
They are also accused of having employed excess staff.
