A man has been arraigned in a Garissa court over an incident during last year's general election in Dadaab Constituency where two people were injured.
Ahmed Muhummed Abdi alias "Ahmed Cheetah" according to the charge sheet is accused of causing bodily harm to Abuhereira Rashid Sheikh on August 9, 2022 contrary to section 251 of the penal code within Daadab.
Muhummed appeared before Principal Magistrate James Masika where he denied the charges.
His lawyers requested the court to release him on a cash bail saying that he was not a flight risk and that he would attend court sessions.
Muhummed was released on a Sh20,000 cash bail despite the objection of the prosecution and his case will be up for mention on May 24, 2023.
