Isiolo Governor Abdi Guyo (pictured) has nominated six members to his cabinet.

The list of nominees includes politicians, former executives who served during the tenure of his immediate predecessor Mohamed Kuti and allies who were heavily involved in his election campaign.

Mr Guyo named former Isiolo South MP Abdullahi Banticha as Finance and Economic Planning nominee and retained two of CECs under Dr Kuti.

The two retained CECs are Lawrence Mwongera who was nominated to Tourism, Trade, Cooperative and Enterprise Development docket and Yussuf Dahir for Lands and Physical Planning, Roads and Urban Development.

Yussuf Mohamed, who served as a chief officer in the last administration is the nominee for Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Special Programmes while Ali Wario, a former chief officer who served during the administration of the first governor Godana Doyo was picked for the position of Water and Sanitation, Energy and Environment and Natural Resources.

A newcomer and the only woman so far picked for the Cabinet slot is Aileen Kajuju for Education, Youth, Sports, Culture and Social Services docket.

Isiolo, like Lamu, both with 10 electoral wards, are required to pick seven CECs unlike the rest of the counties which have 10 slots.

Guyo is yet to pick a nominee for the Health docket.

He will be required by law to pick a second woman as CEC to meet the one-third gender rule.

Isiolo Knut branch executive secretary was named as County Secretary and Head of County Public Service and Hashim Daud as County Attorney.

Abdi Nyabure, who also served under Kuti, will hold the new position of Chief Executive Officer while Abdi Wario, who unsuccessfully vied for Isiolo North seat, was picked as an advisor for inter-governmental affairs.

Doyo Gollo Boru was named as an advisor for inter-county and national coordination and Abdi Haji Daud as economic advisor.
