The East African Community has been urged to enhance women participation in weapons management.
Speaking at a Regional Centre on Small Arms (Recsa) conference in Nairobi, peace and conflict expert Dr Sellah King’oro cited a history of male dominance and stereotypes against women in security institutions.
“Recsa member states and other stakeholders should enhance the visibility of women professionals.”
