Kenya has recorded 101 new Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours, from a sample of 3,923 raising the country's caseload to 321,335.
In a statement on Sunday, Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe said the new infections take the country’s positivity rate to 2.6 per cent and cumulated tests conducted so far to 3,220,562.
Out of the new patients, 47 are female, whereas 54 are male, with the youngest carrier being a one-year-old child and the oldest aged 99.
Of the new cases, six are foreigners while the rest are Kenyans.

Distribution
In terms of counties distribution, Nairobi County recorded 42 cases, Nakuru 22, Uasin Gishu 10, Kericho 8, Vihiga 3, Siaya, Bomet, Homa Bay and Kilifi 2 cases each, Kwale, Machakos, Nyeri, West Pokot, Mombasa, Murang’a, Nandi and Kajiado 1 case each.
Kenya’s Covid-19 death toll has risen to 5,580 after two deaths were reported from the virus in the last 24 hours.
Total recoveries now stand at 294,615 after 542 patients recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours 432 from the Home-Based and Isolation care programme and 110 from various health facilities in the country.
Of the total recoveries, 242,179 are from the Home Based Isolation Care programme while 52,436 are from various hospitals countrywide.
Admitted
A total of 452 patients are currently admitted to various health facilities countrywide, while 4,690 patients are on Home Based Isolation and Care.
Seventeen (17) patients are in the ICU all of them are on ventilatory support. No patient is under observation.
Another 94 patients are separately on supplemental oxygen 91 of them in the general wards, while three patients are in the High Dependency Unit (HDU).
Vaccinated
In terms of vaccination, Kenya has so far administered 12,107,587 Covid-19 vaccines across the country according to the Ministry of Health latest records.
Of these, 6,475,154 have been partially vaccinated while 5,437,273 have been fully vaccinated.
Another 54,094 doses have been administered to those between 15 and 18 years while 141,066 are booster doses.
The uptake of the second dose among those who received the first dose is at 63.0 per cent while the proportion of adults fully vaccinated was 20.0 per cent as the government works towards vaccinating 27, 246,033.
He said the ministry is conducting a two-weeks mass vaccination across the 47 counties from January 28 to get many people vaccinated.
