Kenya has today reported 2,964 Covid-19 positive cases from a sample size of 9,082 tested in the last 24 hours.
The positivity rate is now at 32.6 per cent. From the cases, 2,837 are Kenyans while 127 are foreigners.
The cases comprise 1,546 women and 1,418 are men. The youngest is a four-month-old infant while the oldest is 97 years.
The total confirmed positive cases are now 277,609 and cumulative tests so far conducted are at more than 2.9 million.

In terms of county distribution, Nairobi led by 1,113, followed by Nakuru 249, Kiambu 153, Mombasa 136, Siaya 119, Migori 108, Kilifi 90, Kajiado 83, and Kisumu 77.
Others are Uasin Gishu 76, Machakos 74, Taita Taveta 59, West Pokot 55, Kirinyaga 55, Kwale 51, Kakamega 51, Murang’a 50, Meru 44, and Embu 32.
Today 77 patients recovered from the disease, 52 from various health facilities countrywide while 25 are from the Home-Based Isolation and Care programme.
The total recoveries now stand at 249,694 of whom 201,276 are from the Home-Based Care and Isolation programme, while 48,418 are from various health facilities countrywide.
Health CS Mutahi Kagwe said one patient succumbed to the disease, pushing the cumulative fatalities to 5,357.
A total of 645 patients are currently admitted to various health facilities countrywide, while 13,887 are under the Home-Based Isolation and Care programme.
Sixteen patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), nine of them on ventilatory support while seven are on supplemental oxygen.
Another 116 patients are on supplemental oxygen and 112 of them are in the general wards. Four patients are in the High Dependency Unit (HDU).
As of December yesterday, more than 9.4 million vaccines had so far been administered across the country. Of these, 5.6 million were partially vaccinated while those fully vaccinated were 3.9 million.
The uptake of the second dose among those who received their first dose was at 55.9 per cent as the proportion of adults fully vaccinated was 14.2 per cent.
