A post-mortem examination on the body of self-confessed child killer Masten Milimu Wanjala was carried out today at Bungoma County Referral Hospital Mortuary.
Wanjala, who escaped from police cells in Nairobi, was lynched at Mukhweya village five days ago.
Two pathologists arrived at the hospital around 1pm in the company of homicide investigators to perform the autopsy. Security was beefed up as the autopsy was being carried out.
The pathologists, together with the homicide investigators, did not address journalists and left without divulging details of the postmortem.

Conspicuously missing were Wanjala’s family members who do not yet know when they will be allowed to bury him.
Bungoma County Police Commander Mutungi Musyoki arrived after the team had left. He said that he was not allowed to share details of the postmortem examination because the matter involved investigators from Nairobi.
The burial date has not been confirmed since the family has not been given a permit.
