President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga landed at Kisumu port last evening ahead of today's planned launch of flagship projects funded by the national government.
Raila was the first to land at the port in a private chopper shortly after 5.30pm followed by the President aboard a Kenya Air Force jet. The two who were expected to tour the port drove straight to Kisumu state lodge.
They were welcomed by Kisumu County Commissioner Josephine Ouko who was seconded to oversee the port projects and Nyanza Regional Commissioner Magu Mutindika.
Sources privy to the itinerary said the President will this morning commission the newly refurbished Marine Training School inside the port.
