14 more
people have succumbed to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours bringing the total
number of fatalities to 299.
Speaking on
Tuesday, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe said 606 new cases were recorded after testing 4,888.
Total number of confirmed cases now stands at 18,581.
Out of the 606 cases tested, 409 are male and 197 are female.
A four-month-old infant was among those who tested positive.
Nairobi county is leading with the highest number of cases
(448), followed by Kiambu (54), Kajiado (25), Machakos (16), Uasin Gishu (11),
Nakuru (11), Kericho (9), Garissa (6), Nyeri (2), Murang’a, Nandi, Narok with 1
case each.
The health CS noted that Embakasi is becoming a COVID-19
hotspot adding that additional containment measures might be required.

"Embakasi has become a serious hotspot. If you're
leaving in Embakasi area, you need to know that Embakasi is a hotspot and
further measures may have to be taken,” said Kagwe.
The CS also
warned Kenyans against the sale of alcohol in restaurants, adding that those
found violating the directive risk losing their licenses permanently.
