A Nairobi court has allowed police to hold a woman who allegedly stabbed and killed her husband said to be an aeronautical engineer for 21 days.
Vigilance Shigi (suspect shown above) was arrested on May 9, following a report that she stabbed Edward Okello 33, at their rental house. It is said the two had lived together for six months.
In a sworn affidavit, the suspect and the deceased got into a disagreement whose cause is yet to established and eventually ended up stabbing him severally on the lower abdomen with a kitchen knife.
The deceased then bolted out of the house calling out for help from neighbors who responded by rushing him to Mama Lucy Hospital where he succumbed to injuries.

Police visited the scene and recovered a blood stained knife treated as a murder weapon.
It was then that police arrested the suspected upon identification.
“I am yet to record comprehensive statements, take her for psychiatric assessment, conduct postmortem, forward murder weapon to government chemist as well as mobile phones for forensic analysis” stated the officer.
The suspect claimed that she only threw a cup at him after getting into an argument.
Court granted police 21 more days to complete investigations into the incident.
The matter will be mentioned on June 9.
