Kitui County Governor Charity Ngilu on Saturday, February 1, 2020, caused a stir during the Kitui BBI rally after she called for the removal of Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria from the event.
Ngilu who cut short Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana, who was reading the region’s proposed changes to the report, took the microphone and asked those around Kuria to eject him from the venue.
The Kitui Governor explained that the Gatundu Legislator was disrespectful to the President.
“Nobody will abuse mhesimiwa Uhuru Kenyatta na aingie kwa mkutano wangu, hakuna, atolewe, atolewe”

Kuria had initially made unsuccessful attempts to gain access to the dias after which he decided to use another route when the Kitui Governor made the statement.
It was the statement that got Kuria roughed up and pushed out of the area.
However, he eventually gained access to the podium.
These events took place as Senate Majority leader Kipchumba Murkomen struggled to find a seat at the back of the dias.
This was the second time the legislator made an appearance in a BBI rally since politicians allied to Deputy President William Ruto made a decision to be part of the rallies.
