A section of Nairobi roads will be closed on Sunday for the Standard Chartered Marathon, Nairobi Traffic Commander Joshua Omukata has said.
The affected roads include: Uhuru Highway, Kenyatta Avenue, Harambee Avenue, Bunyala Road, Lusaka Road, Haile Selassie and Waiyaki Way.
The roads will be closed on Saturday at 11pm and opened on Sunday at 2pm. However, the police boss went on to explain that the roads would be re-opened once the race has been concluded.
"The roads will be closed from 11pm on October 26, 2019 which is a day before the marathon," Omukata said.
Those who will need to get to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) on Sunday will have to make prior arrangements so as to avoid inconveniences.
