Kibra MP Ken Okoth will be cremated on Saturday in Nairobi at a private event, this according to the ODM Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna.
The cremation will now go on as planned after Ken’s wife Monica Okoth and Anne Thumbi, the woman who claimed to have had a son with the MP signed a consent that was adopted by a Nairobi Court.
Thumbi, a Nairobi MCA had moved to court on Thursday seeking to have family of Okoth be compelled to allow her son Jayden Baraka Okoth be recognised and take part in the interment plans.
Monica Okoth and Thumbi also agreed that a DNA test be undertaken to confirm the paternity of Jayden.
Meanwhile, a requiem mass for the late Ken Okoth that was planned for at his maternal home in Kabondo, Homa Bay County will go on Saturday, despite the decision to cremate his body in Nairobi.

Got Rateng Primary school the planned venue for the ceremony was last evening a beehive of activities as locals put up a giant tent and arranged chairs for the occasion.
But it still remains unclear whether or not the body would be ferried there.
Although reports had it that the family had called off the mass, Homa Bay County organisers were Friday evening erecting a dorm at the school where mourners had earlier been told to gather for the viewing of the body.
Officials supervising preparations said they had been instructed by some senior politicians they did not name to go on with plans as the family and Luo elders deliberated on how the Kibra MP would be laid to rest.
Before the court injunction, ODM leader Raila Odinga had announced that the body of the late MP would be airlifted to Kabondo where a mass will be held before the body is handed back to the family.
Kabondo-Kasipul MP Eve Obara, however, said the function had been cancelled by the family and said ODM leaders would instead concentrate on Laboso's burial.
