A 14-year-old girl in Nyandarua County was admitted into a hospital at JM Level Four Memorial Hospital after she was allegedly defiled by an unknown man.
The incident happened on Sunday in Kagaa Village, Ol Kalou constituency, where a man dug a hole to the girl’s sleeping room, raped her and allegedly attempted to kill her.
Nyandarua Health Chief Officer Dr Jorum Muraya said efforts are in place to enable the girl to gain stable health since she is traumatized and unable to talk.
“Our staff is working to stabilize her condition. She is not in a good state,” said Dr Muraya as quoted by a local news website.
The chairperson of Kagaa Primary school, where the girl is a KCPE candidate, has condemned the incident but hailed the victim as a bright candidate.

He urged law enforcers to be effective in their operations citing that drug consumption has crippled the area's morality and blamed it for massive school dropouts.
Following the incident, residents staged a demonstration lamenting the cases of insecurity in the area.
They claimed incidents of sexual abuse in the area are not new adding that cases of teenage pregnancy is on the rise.
The residents also blamed the police for negligence saying consumption of drugs in the area is on the rise and the officers are not doing anything to stop the menace.
