Kibra Member of Parliament Ken Okoth is finally back after a long medical trip in Paris, France.

The MP had been undergoing a specialized treatment for colon cancer for more than five months.

Okoth made his first public appearance during the annual Kibra Music festival at Moi Girls School in Nairobi.

The festival brings together performances from Early Childhood Development, Primary and secondary schools. Winners of various categories are feted with trophies and certificates.

Various leaders accompanied him to the function including Westland's Legislator Tim Wanyonyi and Nairobi Senator John Sakaja.

Senator Sakaja congratulated Mr Okoth for initiating good projects for Kibra people despite the hard circumstances he was going through.

"Welcome back home bro and thanks for the amazing job you and your team have been doing," he said.

On the other hand, Westlands MP Mr Wanyonyi lauded him for his resilience and brevity throughout his medication. He also commended him for the good work he is doing for people.

“When I visited Hon Ken in Paris in April he sent me to assure you of his full recovery. We thank God for his resilience. Importantly, we commend you for the excellent job you are doing for Kibra," Hon Wanyonyi said.

In a rejoinder to Wanyonyi’s remarks, Mr Okoth thanked the former for helping him in carrying out some administrative duties.

"Hon Tim Wanyonyi is more than a brother. He came with his family to see me and quell my homesickness. Thank you for standing in for me during the bursaries disbursement as well. I will continue serving my constituents with zeal and commitment," said Okoth.]

The exact date the MP came back is yet to be known.

However, many Kenyans expressed their overwhelming joy and support on social media upon learning that the Kibra legislator was already home.
