A 25-year-old casual worker risks losing his right hand after it was crushed by a grinding machine while he was on duty. Musembi Musili was hurt by the machine as he worked in the Kitui Zany Agro-Industry cotton mill on Tuesday at about 11am.
He was taken to the Kitui Level Five Referral Hospital.
A medical staff at the theatre said he was waiting for a surgery.
Efforts to reach the facility's medical superintendent were futile. The cotton miller's official, a Mr Sanju, said they had done their best to take Musembi to the hospital for "available assistance."
