Police are investigating the death of a court clerk whose body was found near his home in Jerusalem in Eldoret town.
David Ouma Nyabongo (pictured), who worked at the High Court in Eldoret, is said to have left his house after receiving a phone call from a colleague at around 10pm on Friday.
The following morning his body was found with deep cuts on the back of his head by a local, who was heading to work at around 5am.
Moiben police boss Jamlak Ngarunya confirmed the incident and said the body was identified on Sunday after a frantic search by his family and colleagues.

“We received information from Hillary Kipkemboi Rotich (a resident), who was on his way to the office. Our officers visited the scene and found the body lying in a pool of blood near a maize plantation next to the Eldoret airstrip. It had deep cuts,” said Ngaruya.
This is the third Judiciary officer to be killed.
In February, two clerks -Phenney Rowa and Shadrack Bett both working in the registry at the Law Court died under unclear circumstances.
The body was taken to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital awaiting for postmortem.
