Migori Governor Okoth Obado, whose alleged “good gesture” has landed Supreme Court Judge Jactone Ojwang’ in trouble, is ready to defend him at the tribunal probing his conduct.
Yesterday, Mr Obado denied claims that he used his office to build a road leading to Justice Ojwang’s home to allegedly thank him for delivering a favourable judgement in a case that involved him.
Speaking to journalists in Migori on Thursday, Obado said Justice Ojwang’ was innocent and vowed to appear before the tribunal to defend him.
“I stand with Justice Ojwang’. The accusations against him are malicious,” he said.
The tribunal was formed by President Uhuru Kenyatta following a petition that the judge influenced the construction of the road to his rural home.
