The video posted on Twitter by user Jack Sylvester, shows two armed police officers seated outside a shop.
Four youth are seen walking past the shop and the officers immediately order them to lie on the ground, while a lady is allowed to pass.
One officer is then seen unleashing kicks, slaps and heavy blows on a young man before ordering him to leave the scene.
According to Sylvester, the people in the video are allegedly students of Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT).

JKUAT students on Friday held peaceful demonstrations around Juja town and its environs to protest against the killing of innocent students.
The protests come after a first-year student at the institution, Tabitha Muthoni, was allegedly stabbed to death on Thursday night as she resisted thugs. ?
She was walking together with a friend near Segal Hotel when they were ambushed by thugs who demanded their cellphones.

Students who took to Twitter to condemn the killing indicated that relevant authorities must ensure the gang members are brought to book.
The institution of higher learning released a statement on Friday indicating they would work with security agents in Juja to ensure that the criminals who killed Tabitha are brought to book.
“JKUAT management is deeply affected by the death of this young soul and shares its grief with the parents, her colleagues, friends and relatives of the late Tabitha. May her precious soul rest in peace,” read part of the statement.
